Keilor Road Physiotherapy continues to be at the forefront in the new space of Telehealth Physiotherapy and we set ourselves apart by being able to offer unprecedented access to specialist physiotherapist, Jenny Hynes (FACP) and a Specialist led team of physiotherapists, in your own home.

If you're practicing self-distancing or feeling unwell Telehealth Physiotherapy is the best option for you. Conversations via video call or over the phone remove travel time and lower the cost of an appointment, not to mention how easy and convenient it is.

What is Telehealth Physiotherapy?

Telehealth Physiotherapy is a service via video calling or over the telephone ( much like Skype or Zoom ) that allows us to assess and offer treatment advice for new patients and keep our existing patients on track using targeted, individualised self-management strategies. Keilor Road Physio uses a specialised video service, Coviu, which is a securely encrypted, cloud-based platform that's simple to use.

We send you a link with some forms to fill in, take payment, then contact you via the link for your consultation - it's that easy. We ask that you are in a quiet place with enough room to do some basic movements and exercise, wearing clothes that allow you to perform these as normally would in our clinic.

Who is Telehealth Physiotherapy ideal for?

Telehealth physiotherapy consults are ideal for people who:

  • Want to save time and have the convenience of access to Specialist healthcare in their own home.

  • Would like access to the best team of physiotherapists in Melbourne, regardless of where you are in the world.

  • Are unable to attend the clinic location due to extenuating circumstances.

  • Are restricted by injury or disability, making it difficult to attend our clinic.

  • Have been given a diagnosis, but would like further guidance or explanation surrounding their injury from a Specialist in the area.

  • Want a second opinion from one of our Specialist led team of physiotherapists.

Live overseas, rural or in a remote area.

Is Telehealth physio as effective as in person consultations?

Research shows that assessment, diagnosis and self management through online physio via Telehealth is just as effective as traditional physiotherapy. We can hear you, see you and communicate with you about your health concerns and injury - at times and in places that suit you.

What does an Telehealth online physio consult look like?

We start the consultation by listening to your story so that we can understand your injury, how it affects your life and any frustrations or confusion there may be around your injury or previous diagnosis. We then provide direction surrounding your injury and ensure your understanding of exactly of what’s happening before moving forwards. A tailored plan, based on your specific needs and goals is then established, allowing you to get started towards better health immediately.

Prior to your online consult our physiotherapist will:

  • Have you fill in a health screening form, so we can learn about your injury & ensure your specific issue is suitable for a consultation.

  • Ensure you have the appropriate device for your Telehealth online consultation.

What advantages does online physiotherapy have?

By using Coviu, we can see exactly what exercises you have logged and completed. Quick check-ins and conversations can speed up your recovery process. You also get to take control of your own health. With the guidance and support of your Keilor Road physiotherapist, who is only an email or phone call away, you have the power and tools to self manage your pain and fast track your rehabilitation.

What injuries are appropriate for a Telehealth physiotherapy consultation?
